When a Gcore service is suspended, paused due to inactivity, or reaches the end of its Free Service Period, its data is retained for a limited time before deletion. The retention period depends on the product and the reason the service stopped. An individual service can be deleted while the account stays open. Closing the account and deleting all associated data is covered in Account deletion. A service stops for one of four reasons:
  1. The product was disabled manually. This is a suspension.
  2. A payment charge failed, causing the product to be suspended. When one product is suspended for this reason, all other products on the account are also suspended.
  3. Gcore pauses a service without a commitment when metering records no consumption. Services with a commitment are not subject to inactivity pauses, which are distinct from suspensions. The pause notice specifies how long the service and its data will be retained. The service can be reactivated during this period; otherwise, Gcore deletes it and its data without further notice when the period ends.
  4. A Free Service Period ended without a plan enabled. Trial limits are listed in trial conditions. The end of a Free Service Period is not a suspension.

Deletion timelines by product

Use the column that corresponds to the reason the service stopped. Each timeline starts when that state begins: at suspension, at the start of the inactivity pause, or at the end of the Free Service Period. After suspension, Cloud products on any tariff follow one rule. Gcore can delete any Cloud resource at any time and without further notice. That covers Virtual Machines, including Basic VM, Bare Metal servers, GPU instances, snapshots, and the data stored on local storage. Gcore can keep network-attached resources for up to 14 days after suspension and can delete them at any time during or after that period, also without further notice. Network-attached resources are block volumes (High IOPS, Low Latency, and Standard), file shares (VAST, DDN, and Standard), and IP addresses.
The periods below apply to all Gcore accounts by default. They can differ for a specific account if a personal manager or technical support agrees to a different retention period in advance.Gcore reserves the right to delete data, including without prior notice, to enforce its rights under the Master Services Agreement, other Gcore documentation, or applicable law.
An asterisk (*) means Object Storage data can still be manually recovered for 14 days after it is deleted at the end of the 48-hour suspension timeline. That recovery window is separate from the 14 days after a Free Service Period.
Standard deletion timelines are subject to change, as specified in the Master Services Agreement (item 16) and individual product specifications.

Deleted data by product

Gcore deletes the resources below when the timeline for that product allows it. A product with no row in this table deletes the service configuration and the customer data stored for that service.
